The Game - 'West Coast Ressurection'I smell a cash in. After the multi platinum planet shagging success of ‘The Documentary’ The Game’s first album has been re-issued ‘Reasonable Doubt’ style by Get Low records. Is it up there with Jay-Z’s debut? Is it a worthwhile listen three years on? No & No…

This is West Coast cheese of the lowest order, all staccato synths and bad puns; this album wants to be ‘The Chronic’ but is just chronic. JT The Bigga Figga produces throughout whoever the hell he is and it sucks… like a Dyson turbine powered vacuum cleaner the production values are atrocious.

The naff casio beats don’t hip or hop but lazily plod on and The Game sounds like a completely different rapper altogether. This is before he had his NWA tattoo and before he learnt anything from them. Tracks like ‘The Streetz Of Compton’ with its god awful nu-metal guitars and the abominable ‘Blacksox’ only serve to tell us how far Compton’s newest ghetto terrorist has come.

There is one highlight in the form of club banger ‘Krush Groove’ which has the bounce of a Neptunes produced Snoop track but one out of fourteen simply isn’t good enough. This album may get the scallies and chavs talking about wheel trims and tracksuits but for the rest of us this is a major disappointment. If you want a rap rekkid with real gangsta bite go direct to the source and check the band who made Compton famous, if you need to find out who that is then you and ‘West Coast Resurrection’ deserve each other.
