David LiveI’m always a bit dubious when an album is reissued as to whether it is just another ploy to make a few extra quid, however in the case of Bowie Live, you certainly get your money’s worth!

From start to finish the album takes you into a time warp back to 1974, completely hypnotising you into the Tower Theatre, Philadelphia where you rock your bollocks off with Bowie.  'David Live' captures some of Bowie’s finest ever performances, taking you through a journey of Glam Rock to plastic soul on his 'Diamond Dogs' tour.

'David Live' has been reworked to such a high standard that you really feel like you are in the theatre, as the album features a brand new stereo mix by the original producer. Tony Visconti has engineered a superb live album containing no studio overdubs or re-recordings of voices, instruments or crowd, with the small exception of a few backing vocals.

Released on double CD, this enthralling live performance covers arguably Bowie’s greatest songs to date.  Disc one captures some of the best Glam Rock anthems ever written, including superb versions of the sleazy rock masterpiece ‘Rebel Rebel’ as Bowie opens with “Hot tramp, I love you soâ€, and the passionate hangover-curing ‘All The Young Dudes’ and ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll with Me’.  Disc two features sublime alternate versions of Bowie classics, including the previously unreleased ‘Space Oddity’, and the cabaret style reworking of ‘The Young Dudes’ and ‘The Jean Genie’.

This is a must buy for all Bowie lovers to capture the legend live in his finest hour, and for all you young guns who want a lesson in how to become Glam Rock kings – chuck out your shitty Darkness records and look no further.
