Hurrah for Joss Stone! Hurrah for her talent and sweet nature even if she appears to be going nuts in the papers lately.

With Introducing Joss Stone we have an album which opens with the sultry tones of Vinnie Jones. What? Vinnie Jones? Yes that notable footballer turned actor gives us a speech on the subject of change before Joss launches into HER sultry tones. And every nice they are too.

It is most definitely a good sign when someone of this talent is allowed near the music industry, what with the number of feminine singers out there who are all leg and no voice. Joss happily has both leg and voice as she demonstrates with a naked paint-covered pose with a gentleman on the inside of the album cover.

What’s also refreshing is that all the tracks are different. Sure, they are all vaguely in throwing distance of soul, but they all have distinctive tones to them, which again is nice in a world which abhors non-uniformity.

So what delights would your ears be treated to if one decided to purchase this musical goodness? You could select ‘Headturner’ which is probably destined for a film soundtrack, or maybe ‘Put Your Hands On Me’ which appears to have been borrowed from the early nineties; maybe your tastes lie with ‘Music’ which guests none other than Lauryn Hill?

Oh hell, most people will probably like most of the songs on here even if they occasionally creep you out. But there’s no denying the talent in here.
