Borrowing stonking basslines from Hendrix’s ‘Foxy Lady’, Pete Doherty’s lazy vocals drift overheard as a jumble of guitars join in.
Title track ‘Blinding’ is Babyshambles at their best, with the ever-present swagger, minus the normal fuss. They get back to courting the media with the dreary ‘Love You But Your Green’ as Doherty plays the misunderstood ‘troubled teen’.
Like something you embarrassing uncle would dance to at the Christmas party ‘I Wish’ is White Bloke reggae at it’s worst and ‘Sedative’ is the same old formula. Babyshambles have shot their load on one song and sleepwalked through the rest. This EP gives a glimpse of great they could be if they concentrated on the tunes rather than the hype.
