Fresh from releasing their fourth album ‘Cheeky For A Reason’ and an appearance at T In The Park, The View took to the Glasgow O2 Academy to perform to a sweaty Scottish crowd.
 
The Dundonians kicked off the night thrashing straight into ‘Comin’ Down’ from their debut album ‘Hats Off From The Buskers’ sending the crowd into a non-stop party with the chant of “The View Are On Fire” filling in the small gaps in between songs.
 
The set list consisted of a healthy mix of songs from the bands four albums to please any doubters who thought the gig would mainly cover new material.  The View received the same reactions from older songs such as ‘The Don’ and from their new material that included the new single ‘How Long’ with the crowd singing along to every song only adding to the party atmosphere.
 
‘Face For The Radio’ brought the energy down but allowed the crowd to sway rhythmically producing waving lighters and phones.
 
Leaving the most notable songs ‘Superstar Tradesman’ and ‘Same Jeans’ to near the end allowed one last burst of energy from the crowd. The View have managed to keep their cheeky charm flowing through their album collection which transfers to their live shows. The gig had a party atmosphere more recognisable to festival crowds rather than a normal show, making The View a rare live act and one of todays great British guitar bands.
