The Corrections - 'Barcode'

The Corrections look set to be a force to contend with. Simply listen to ‘Barcode’ a few times and you’ll see it all stretch before you. Winter’s vocals might sound a little reedy but there’s something in the delivery that makes the thought of their forthcoming debut album ‘Repeat After Me’ a delicious prospect. It would be easy to decry this single as just another guitar band trying to up the ante while exploring coffee table philosophy. But the guitar work has a range and quality to it that keeps the melody in your head long after you’ve forgotten the lyrics. Let the energy inspire you to dance like your life depended on it and forget about the ‘powers that be’. They’ll still be there when you’re hungover tomorrow.

Released 07/04/08 on EMI.
