- Madonna vs Lady Gaga: Lady Gaga has always cited Madonna as one of her biggest influences - so it must have come as quite a blow when Madonna began promoting her MDNA tour by criticising her young pop rival. Madonna called Gaga 'reductive' when asked about similarities between her track 'Express Yourself' and Gaga's 'Born This Way'. Madge then included a cover of Gaga's hit in her live shows, prompting Gaga to speak out about the cover at a live show in New Zealand. "It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work. And that doesn't make me feel good at all," said Gaga. Later, she declined Madonna's invite to join her on stage for a duet.

It's a sad fact, but women in music don't always get on - as Nicki Minaj's recent rant against Mariah Carey goes to show.
During recording of this year's American Idol, which this year features both stars as new judges, Minaj yells at and about Mariah Carey, after they apparently disagreed about a contestant's talents. Of course, this being 2012 - the whole thing was caught on a camera phone and promptly leaked online.
The clip, posted online by US gossip website TMZ shows Minaj screaming at Carey, with American Star Keith Urban star between them. Much of Minaj's language is bleeped out, but she can be heard saying "I told them, I'm not f**kin' putting up with her f**kin' highness over there."
Nicki is no stranger to feuding with fellow female stars - and indeed owes much of her early rise to fame to her rivalry with rapper Lil' Kim, but this is just the latest in a long line of girl on girl wars of words.
