Kasabian headlined Reading festival for the first time last night, some eight years after they made their debut at the annual event.

The band, led by frontman Tom Meighan and guitarist Serge Pizzorno, covered The Beatles and Fatboy Slim in a hit heavy set drawing on the Leicester band's back catalogue.

Kasabian first performed at Reading in 2004 when they headlined the then Carling tent in the same year they released their self-titled debut album.

Kasabian's set was as follows:

'Days Are Forgotten'
'Shoot the Runner'
'Velociraptor!'
'Underdog'
'Where Did All the Love Go?'
'Swarfiga'
'Let's Roll Just Like We Used To'
'I.D.'
'Take Aim'
'Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime'
'Club Foot'
'Re-Wired'
'Empire'
'Praise You'
'L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)'
'Switchblade Smiles'
'Vlad the Impaler'
'Fire'

The third and final day of Reading Festival gets underway today with performances from Kaiser Chiefs, Bullet For My Valentine, Justice and a Foo Fighters headline slot.

Dave Grohl and co will close the mainstage on Richfield Avenue tonight as headliners, with a set of their greatest hits due to confirm their status as one of the best live bands around.

Kaiser Chiefs and Bullet For My Valentine also play the mainstage today, as well as blues rock duo The Black Keys, who make their final UK appearance this summer.

French disco kings Justice, meanwhile, headline the NME/Radio 1 Stage tonight, following a day's performances from the likes of The Horrors, Two Door Cinema Club and Django Django

The View headline the Festival Republic Stage, while Less Than Jake, Gallows and Trash Talk make up today's impressive Dance Stage line-up.

Light showers are expected in Reading today, with temperatures likely to reach around 19 degrees during the day before dropping to 11 degrees at night..
