12 August, 2012: We're not going to lie - we're gutted the Olympics are over. Before the games began, we were as pessimistic about London 2012 as anyone, but it proved to be a truly special event in London history that did for national pride almost as much as Geri Halliwell's Union Jack dress at the 1997 BRIT Awards.
Speaking of whom, Halliwell was among the performers at last night's closing ceremony, joining her Spice Girl bandmates at the closing ceremony to take part in the Symphony Of British music. The girlband whizzed around the Olympic stadium on top of taxis, along with fellow performers such as The Who, Ed Sheeran, Pink Floyd, Pet Shop Boys, The Kinks' Ray Davies, Kaiser Chiefs and Monty Python's Eric Idle.
