12 August 2012 is going to be a big day for music in London. Not only does it mark the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics Games, but Blur perform what may be the last gig of their career.
The band reformed at the start of 2012 to perform at The BRIT Awards, and have since released two new tracks, 'Under The Westway' and 'The Puritan'. They have refused to confirm or deny future plans to work together, with Alex James recently revealing that their future together depended on the success of their Hyde Park show.
“The focus at the moment is getting Hyde Park right," he told the NME. "But the response to the new songs has been amazing. I don't know if there's such a thing as an 'album' anymore, or if that word means anything. I really don't know what happens next, that's the only honest answer I can give.
“It's precarious though. If Hyde Park's s**t, then that's definitely it.”
