- 10. The Who - Collective age of 135. Not bad when you consider the fact there''s only two of them in the band. Daltrey and Townshend will perform at this weekend''s Olympic closing ceremony without former drummer Keith Moon, who the organising committee asked to appear.

Sixties pop band The Monkees have just announced that they will reform and perform live together for the first time 15 years, and as wonderful as that is, it got us thinking.
If you add up all the ages of the members, which is the oldest band in the world? Not only was it great fun researching old rock stars, but a little light arithmetic is always good to keep the brain sharp. Now obviously different bands have different members, but lets not let that little scrap of mathematical information put us off - we're busy counting here!
