Australian Madonna fans have been left disappointed after the MDNA superstar cancelled her scheduled shows in the country.
It would have been the first time that Madonna had toured the country in nearly 20 years, and she had planned to perform in both Melbourne and Sydney.
The announcement about the dates was supposed to be released later this year but, according to News.com.au, Live Nation have confirmed that they will not go ahead.
No reason was given as to why, although there is currently speculation that the tour became unviable due to high ticket costs and a crowded concert market.
A spokesperson said: "Madonna's tour will end in South America in December as planned. That's all we can say."
Madonna has not performed in Australia since The Girlie Show World Tour in 1993.
