- The Westcountry: It was going to take a band of real merit to undo all the musical horror inflicted by Reef in the early nineties - and it was Muse who restored the balance and proved that the South West of England was capable of producing top-notch, world class rock music. With the recent reveal of Muse's Olympic theme tune 'Survival', this summer's London Olympics got a little cooler, as one of the country's best bands lend their talents to one of the year's biggest events.
'Survival' will be heard throughout London 2012 - during medal ceremonies, when the athletes enter the stadium and on television coverage.
But the Westcountry rock megastars haven't only made the Olympics cooler. Their continued presence in music has worked wonders for the Westcountry, dodgy fashion sense, cover versions and much more besides.
