Radio playlists and the current charts are a depressing place and modern pop music has become a bland, indistinguishable blur as artist after artist urges us to to put our drinks in the air and get on the floor.

But good pop music is far from dead - in fact, the current pop scene is brimming with amazing new artists innovating and experimenting, they're just not getting the exposure offered to the likes of Cheryl Cole, Rita Ora or Justin Bieber.
