Voice tour faces cancellation as tickets fail to sell

Expensive tickets and poor scheduling blamed for lack of interest in shows

Although hailed as a success by BBC executives, The Voice live tour is set to flop as hard as Leanne Mitchell's 'Run To You' single, with shows set to be cancelled due to poor ticket sales.

The 11-date tour has failed to sell out a single venue of its UK tour, and the £40 ticket price is being blamed for the lack of interest in the shows. Poor scheduling is also being blamed, with the shows kicking off in September 2012 - long after the show finished and in the middle of this year's X Factor season.

Yesterday, BBC boss Danny Cohen hailed the show a huge hit for the BBC, as it was named the channel's biggest launch in a decade, averaging viewers of 9.2million per episode.

However, winner Leanne Mitchell failed to make the Top 40 with debut single this week, stalling at No.45 with her Whitney Houston cover version.
