This weekend saw the biggest names in rock desend on Donnington Park for another epic Download festival. Check out exclusive photos of the event below.

This year's standout stars included legends of rock and roll including Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Metallic and Anthrax alongside young upstarts such as Black Veil Brides and recent chart toppers, Tenacious D.

Speaking of the festival, Soundgarden's Chris Cornell said: "If you're in a rock band or you're a fan, it's pretty well documented as being the big hard rock festival worldwide. It's the one."

"I played Download three years ago on a solo tour and it was great. It stood out as being one of the best festival shows I'd had, certainly that year."

Countering the rock blast with dance beats, hard-edged electro-artists such as The Prodigy and Chase & Status also staged stunning sets at the festival - and we've got photos of all the best stage action in our gallery below...
