A new trailer for this summer's DC comics blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises has premiered online - as Christian Bale has spoken of his interest in filming a fourth installment of the series. Watch the trailer below.

The clip shows Christian Bale as Batman speaking of his retirement from crime fighting with technology expert Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), who seems certain that his new gadgets will persuade Bruce Wayne to wear the cowl once again.

The tech on display shows a new Batman costume plus new Batmobile and Bat-bike as well as the all-new Bat-wing.

Christian Bale has recently revealed that despite The Dark Knight Rises begin promoted as the end of the films' current franchise, he is keen to play Batman again.

"My understanding is that this is the last one," said Bale in an interview with Empire. "I think it's appropriate, I think it's going out at the right time.

"But... if Chris came to me with a script and said, 'You know what? There is another story', then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work."
