Pete Doherty has revealed that he suffers from ‘enormous anxiety’ before performing on stage with his group Babyshambles or as a solo artist.

Doherty has admitted that his crippling stage fright is a big problem for him, which subsequently affects his performance and also revealed that his current band Babyshambles have far from a professional outlook.

The singer said in an interview with The Guardian: ''If the Libertines were three reliable, talented musicians and one f**k-up, Babyshambles is like one talented musician... And the rest of us are f***ed up.''

The former Libertines frontman has also admitted to drinking on set of his debut film ‘Confession of a Child of the Century’, causing him ‘a few problems’.

He said: ''I wasn't going to drink coloured water. If I am doing a drunken scene, I am doing a drunken scene. That did cause a few problems. Once I start drinking, I have to carry on.''

Pete Doherty has also previously publicised his heroin used on set of the film, with the film’s director Sylvie Verheyde having to turn a blind eye.

Speaking to The Guardian: ''It's poison but it's also medicine. When you're in that state, you can't function unless you have your fix.''
