After months of shivering and slopping around in wet socks, summer finally hit the UK this week. Pub-goers spilled onto the streets and tabloid photographers headed to the coast to take photos of girls in bikinis larking around in the sea. Yes indeed, the great British summertime has arrived.
But not everyone had such a great week, as music careers floundered, while other stars' attempts to break into a new industry fell flat - or worse, were met with an arena-sized chorus of boos. A few days of warmth won't come as much comfort to the likes of Matt Cardle and Pete Doherty this week, that's for sure.
