Donna Summer died today (17 May, 2012) after a career stretching three decades which spawned some of the most memorable hits in pop history. She had battled cancer for several years and is said to have passed away at her Florida home.

Often referred to as the Queen of Disco, Donna Summer was truly deserving of the title, having defined the seventies club scene with her hit, 'I Feel Love' along with tracks such as 'Could It Be Magic', 'Hot Stuff' and 'Bad Girls'.

Success continued into the eighties, with more hits in the shape of 'State Of Independence' and 'This Time I Know It's For Real'.

Summer influenced a generation of pop, soul and dance singers and was releasing music up until 2010, closing a chart career that spanned nearly forty years.

Check out some of Donna Summer's biggest and best hits below as we pay respect to the Queen of Disco.
