Green Day are set to headline the huge outdoor Voodoo Music Experience festival in New Orleans later in the year.
The kings of pop punk will be headlining the three-day festival from October 26-28 and are the only band confirmed for the festival so far.
The American group are in the process of writing tracks for their new albums '¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!', which will be released across the last few months of the year. '¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!' we be divided into an album trilogy and released in three stages, with the first ‘¡Uno!’, coming out in September, just before the Voodoo Music Experience festival. The band have previously promised that the trilogy will be 'genius'.
The band will also headline Japan’s Summer Sonic festival and France’s Rock En Seine in August, amongst other gigs in Bologna, Italy and Germany over the summer. There are currently no dates scheduled for the UK but their ‘American Idiot’ musical will tour the UK, finishing in London at the end of the year.
