11 May, 2012: Day two of this year's Great Escape festival in Brighton, and the band action is spilling out into the streets as music fans clamour to catch some of the biggest, and most promising, new bands on the current indie scene.

As the sun came out, bands such as Temper Trap, Spector, Citizens!, Alt-J and many more took to the various stages across the seaside town.

The annual event is now in its seventh year, each year drawing the finest and most hotly tipped bands of the moment. Previous years have seen the likes of The Cribs, Gossip, The Maccabees, Friendly Fires, Foals, Bombay Bicycle Club, Mumford & Sons, The xx, Chase & Status and The Vaccines perform while in the early days of their careers. It will be interesting to see who, of the current crop are the big indie names and headlining festival line-ups in the future.
