Jack White is set to follow the release of his 'Blunderbuss' album with the soundtrack to new Disney film 'The Lone Ranger'. Starring Johnny Depp, the reimagining of the old show got us thinking about popular artists who have taken their music to the big screen.
With the potency of grand classical music somewhat undermined by its ubiquity in popular culture - Sky Sports News and X Factor have both borrowed film scores to lend their programming an epic quality - directors and producers are looking towards modern musicians who are not necessarily classically trained to score their projects.
