The biggest hip-hop feuds of all time

Nicki Minaj reckons she can take Jay-Z but will their war go down in history?

  • Ice Cube vs. NWA: When Ice Cube left NWA in 1989 over royalty disputes it sparked fierce lyrical warfare between himself and Dr Dre and Eazy-E. Although Cube made no direct reference to the bitter split on his 1990 debut 'AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted', NWA savaged their former member on their 100 Miles and Runnin' EP. On it they compared Cube to Benedict Arnold, a 18th century US army traitor who switched sides to the British Empire, and accused him of cowardice. These sentiments were echoed again later, with Ice Cube finally fighting back against NWA on his second album Death Certificate most notably on No Vaseline which called on Eazy-E to put a bullet in the temple of manager Jerry Heller.

So Nicki Minaj reckons she can take on Jay-Z for his current hip-hop crown? We highly doubt that!

When it comes to some of the most infamous hip-hop beefs of all time, Nicki Minaj vs Jay-Z is barely the (Q-)tip of the (Vanilla) iceberg.

In our new feature we round up the best feuds in rap, featuring the likes of LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Nas, DMX and R Kelly.

Things have gotten so ugly between these guys, the next time Pete Doherty threatens a Johnny Borrell look-alike tell him to sort it out as it ain't nothing compared to the bad blood between these hip-hop legends.
