10 Years Of The Super Bowl: Madonna, The Who, Prince

We look back at those memorable performances...

  • Black Eyed Peas (2011): After three years of stadium-filling rock acts, the Black Eyed Peas dazzled with an eye-popping light show and some help from Slash and Usher. Before the kick-off, Christina Aguilera sang the National Anthem and somehow managed to get the words wrong.

The 42nd Super Bowl takes place in Indianapolis this Sunday and as usual, the half-time entertainment will be discussed as much as the actual game.

This year sees Madonna make her first Super Bowl appearance, with some help from Nicky Minaj, M.I.A and Cirque du Soleil.

The American singer is set to perform five songs, including new single 'Give Me All Your Luvin,' 'Vogue' and 'Holiday.'

Over the years, there have some been truly memorable Super Bowl performances, to say the least. From Janet Jackson and the infamous 'nipplegate' of 2004, to Prince singing 'Purple Rain' in the rain, Gigwise has created a gallery celebrating the half-time performances of the last 10 years.

Grab yourselves some chips and dip and enjoy...
