The 50 Most Controversial Videos Of All Time

See what shocks...

  • 50. Britney Spears: 'Womanizer'- Following her mental meltdown, people knew the pop star would need to return to the fray with a bang and it does just that in style. Directed by Joseph Kahn, in one scene we see a an oiled-up Britney writhing around completely naked in a sauna. Duly, it secured the singer endless column inches around the globe.

It seems these days that everybody gets offended by the slightest thing.. Yesterday it was announced that the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) had cleared an advert for Lady Gaga's Born This Way album after viewers complained a series of raunchy clips from her video 'Judas' were unsuitable for children. (Come on!!)

In honour of the strange, naked and weird, Gigwise has taken a look back at other shocking music videos.

Our gallery features artists from Britney Spears to Bloodhound Gang's 'The Bad Touch', which saw band members spew vomit into each other's mouth, and the magic mushrooms of D12's 'Purple Pills'. There is also a place for The Prodigy's 'Smack My Bitch Up' or Madonna's 'Like A Prayer'.
