A report has suggested that Microsoft's next version of Kinect will be powerful enough to lip-read users' instructions.

Eurogamer says Kinect 2 will offer superior motion-sensing and voice recognition.

As a result, games will be able to "lip-read, detect when players are angry, and determine in which direction they are facing."

The technology will measure players' vocal pitch and volume, as well as recognise facial characteristics, which will lead to a more accurate experience.

It has been reported that the next generation XBox will be released in two bundles, with the new Kinect included in both.
