Heavy metal godfathers, Black Sabbath, announced their reunion, along with plans for a new album and 2012 reunion tour over the weekend
The veteran band made the announcement at a press conference in Los Angeles over the weekend, confirming the long-rumoured reformation. The reunion will feature the band’s full original line-up - Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward. The last time this original four performed together was back in the early 2000s.
Black Sabbath formed in Birmingham back in the late '60s, undergoing many changes - over 20 in fact - since then. The band has sold more than 15 millions records worldwide and have influenced endless heavy metal bands of our time. Their breakthrough album was the classic record 'Paranoid', released in 1970.
