Batman: Arkham City Lead Narrative Paul Crocker has revealed that making the game has been "a dream come true."

Speaking exclusively to Gigwise at the launch of the eagerly anticipated game at London's Freemasons Hall, Crocker spoke about the benefits of making a superhero game that wasn't part of a movie tie-in.

Of tie-in games, he said: "I guess it is very difficult to talk about other people, because no one sets out to make bad games. Sometimes it’s time related, or it’s not the right plan, Batman is obviously the right game. When it was offered to us we were so... we were fans, so to be given that opportunity..."

Crocker also explained the relationship between Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros, saying: "The first game was to prove ourselves, that we could do it well. We appreciate where they’re coming from, and they appreciate where we’re coming from. To have that kind of a relationship is incredible."

For Crocker, it is amazing how far the series has come since Batman: Arkham Asylum was released in 2009, adding: "Four years ago we were reading their comics to get ideas for the game, and now comics are being made from the game. So I guess it’s a dream come true for our team."

Batman: Arkham Asylum is now on sale for PS3 and XBox, coming to PCs on November 18.

Must-buy games for Christmas...
