October 18 2011 – The Stone Roses have today delighted fans with news that they will reunite for two special homecoming gigs in Manchester.

The band announced at a press conference in London this afternoon that all original members - Ian Brown, Mani, John Squire and Reni,  - will play two dates at Manchester's Heaton Park, on June 29 and 30 2012.

To celebrate what will undoubtedly be the music event of the summer, Gigwise has put together a list of the most celebrated band reunions in recent years.

You'll find appearances from the likes of The Libertines, Take That, Pulp, The Smashing Pumpkins and Pink Floyd.
