Today (September 19) marks the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's historical second album 'Nevermind'.
Since its release in 1991, 'Nevermind' has been cited as one of the defining albums of the last twenty years. Made more prominent following the death of frontman Kurt Cobain little over two years later, 'Nevermind' still is as powerful as ever.
With tracks such as 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', 'In Bloom' 'Come As You Are' and 'Lithium', 'Nevermind' took the small time Washington band from the grunge underscene to worldwide success.
To celebrate the album's 20th anniversary, Gigwise have put together a list of the facts that you need to know about 'Nevermind', from the band's own thoughts, the album's recording and production process, through to label controversy and the inspiration for the album's title.
