July 19 2011 – The nominations for this year's Mercury Prize were announced in London today, and a number of this year's shortlisted artists were present as the names were read out.
Anna Calvi, Everything Everything, Katy B and Metronomy all attended the press event at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden.
This year's nominees also include past winners Elbow, current number one chart-topper Adele, PJ Harvey, Tinie Tempah and James Blake.
The winner will be announced during a ceremony in London in September. Last year's prize was won by The xx.
