For most university is a struggle, but for people in the public eye it seems degrees are handed out like ear protection at a Rage Against The Machine gig.
So far this year, Pulp's Jarvis Cocker and Duffy are among a host of music stars who have collected honorary degrees from universiies across the country.
But it's not just a 2011 fad: honours have been handed out for years, so here Gigwise has decided to remember some of the other famous faces who have been bestowed with them, including the whole of Muse, the Bee Gees and U2 frontman Bono.
