The Killers kicked off this year’s Hard Rock Calling festival in London tonight (June 24).

Performing their first UK festival date in two years, the band delighted fans in Hyde Park with a career-spanning set.

Kicking off with ‘Indie Rock & Roll’, singer Brandon Flowers joked that he was surprised fans had turned out to watch the band perform.

“They wouldn’t let you into Wimbledon or what?” he asked, before added: “What you doing here?”

The Killers, whose played two warm-up gigs at Scala earlier this week, also played ‘Smile Like You Mean It’, ‘Bones’ and their cover of Joy Division’s ‘Shadowplay’.

Flowers spokes sparingly, but introduced each band member before ‘For Reasons Unknown’.

The Killers concluded their performance with ‘When We Were Young’.

The Killers set list was:

‘Indie Rock & Roll’
‘Spaceman’
‘Somebody Told Me’
‘For Reasons Unknown’
‘Smile Like You Mean It’
‘Losing Touch’
‘Bones’
‘Spaceman Reprise’
‘Bling (Confessions Of A King)’
‘Shadowplay’
‘Human’
‘Moon River’
‘Read My Mind’
‘Mr Brightside’
‘All These Things I’ve Done’
‘This Is Yoru Life’
‘Jenny Was  Friend Of Mine’

Earlier, Kaiser Chiefs performed on the main stage, playing an energetic set which included songs from new album ‘The Future Is Medieval’.

The Ricky Wilson-led group also played fan favourite, ‘Modern Way’, ‘I Predict A Riot’ and ‘Oh My God’.

Hard Rock Calling will also be headlined by Bon Jovi and U2. For more information, check out Gigwise Festival Guide.
