- The White Stripes Split Up - The White Stripes announced that they have split up and that they have no plans to make further recordings or perform live again. In a statement, Jack and Meg White said the decision to part company was not down to “artistic differences of lack of a wanting to continue”.

Another week goes by and it’s time once again for Gigwise to bring you this week’s news in bite-sized portions - just how you like it.
Like many music fans, we’re still coming to terms with the break-up of The White Stripes, who have decided to call it quits to prevent tarnishing their legacy.
This week will also go down as one that saw supposed naked photos of Lady Gaga and Rihanna pop up all over the place, while The Rolling Stones quashed reports they were set to embark on a huge tour this year. The aforementioned Gaga was also reported to be playing the Grammy Awards with Muse.
