The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council has deemed Dire Straits 1985 hit ‘Money For Nothing’ inappropriate for radio.
The song, written by Mark Knopfler and Sting, includes the word “f*ggot” three times, and promoted complaints that it was homophobic after it was broadcast on a Canadian radio station last year.
As a result, only edited versions of the song will now be allowed to be played on air.
But ‘Money For Nothing’ is only the top of the iceberg when it comes to controversial hits. The Performing Rights Society (PRS) recently unveiled the top-10 most controversial songs ever - and you can see them below now.
