August 21 2010 - V Festival gets under way at Weston Park in Staffordshire with a headlining performance from Kasabian.
The band thrilled fans with a performance described as "empire" by frontman Tom Meighan. Their set included crowd-pleasing renditions of 'Shoot The Runner', 'Clubfoot' and 'Fire'.
Other performances on day one came from Sugababes, Madness, Goldfrapp, Faithless, Doves, Cherry Ghost and Madness.
