Green Day Beat Kings Of Leon To Prize At American Music Awards

Green Day scooped the 'favourite rock artist' prize at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles last night.

The trio, who recently completed their UK tour, beat Kings of Leon and Shinedown to take the honour.

Billie Joe Amrstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool also performed live at the ceremony - a pyrotechnics strewn rendition of recent single '21 Guns'.

The big winners on the night, however, were Michael Jackson who took home four posthumous honours and Taylor Swift who won five including artist of the year.

Other performers on the night at the Nokia Theater were Lady GaGa, Rihanna Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z.

Seriouslyy?? Kings of Leon is one of the WORST bands I've ever heard!! I find it hard to believe that anyone can even make it through a song and not fall asleep!! They are the next coldplay/thefray/EVERYTHINGELSE! Green Day are legends and musical geniuses. WTF have Kings of Leon done? I would have raised HELL if they'd have stolen this award!
