Elbow fans are to be given the opportunity to watch the band's sold-out performance with the Hallé orchestra live.
The concert, on July 9, will now be broadcast on a free live relay to a giant screen in the Castlefield Arena.
Entry will be on a first-come, first-saved basis from 6pm and there will be no advance tickets, organisers said.
Elbow's performance with the Hallé forms part of the Manchester International Festival.
The Mercury-winning band are re-structuring their music alongside the orchestra for the performance.
