Quincy Jones, Other 'Thriller' Collaborators Pay Tribute To Michael Jackson

Tributes are being paid tonight to Michael Jackson, the King of Pop who has died at the age of 50, from some of his musical collaborators.

Quincy Jones, who produced Jackson’s legendary ‘Thriller’ album, said he was “absolutely devastated” by the star’s death.

“For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words,” he added.

John Landis, who directed the music video for the song ‘Thriller’, said he was “lucky enough to know and work” with the singer “in his prime”.

“Michael was an extraordinary talent and a truly great international star,” Landis said.

“He had a troubled and complicated life and despite his gifts, remains a tragic figure.”

Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ album is still the best-selling studio effort of all time by a solo performer – an achievement which, in the digital age, is unlikely to ever be surpassed.

In addition to the lead single, the album also featured the songs ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Smooth Criminal’ and ‘Beat It’.

Jackson died upon arrival to a Los Angeles medical facility. He is understood to have suffered a heart attack.
