Paul Weller has said his new material is “right on the button”.
The former Jam frontman is currently previewing new songs alongside already released tracks on a UK tour.
In an interview with the London Lite, Weller said the tracks were being better received than the last time he attempted to preview unreleased material live.
"We play at least half the album. On the last tour, we played '111'. It wasn't like people were booing and walking out,” he said.
"We've got strings and a brass section, plus we've got some brand new tunes. There's this great one called 'Wake Up The Nation'.
"It won't be coming out 'till next year, but I wish it was ****ing coming out next week, man, 'cos it's right on the button."
Weller's last studio album, '22 Dreams', was released last year to widespread critical acclaim.
