Kaiser Chiefs have rubbished tabloid reports which claim the band are taking a hiatus after being left “devastated” by “poor” sales of their third album 'Off With Their Heads'.
Writing on their official website, the Leeds band said they're not usually ones to react to newspaper rumours but felt compelled to this time.
They wrote:
“Oh woe is us... NOT the case, what do we have to be devastated about? We're halfway though our most enjoyable & biggest tour of Europe, and couldn't be happier with the way it's going. 'Off With Their Heads' is our favourite Kaiser Chiefs album to play live, we're proud of it. And it's done well, our 3rd album in the UK to chart in the top 2 & 'Never Miss A Beat' went top 5 at a time when British indie bands don't seem able to do that any more.
“It's sold over half a million albums and is still going, where's the doom and gloom in that? Not here. We thought we owed it to our fans to flag this one up, don't believe all you read!”
Other reports alleged that the band were ready to ditch Mark Ronson as a producer on future works. Ricky Wilson and co. have not commented on this yet.
