I just saw Etta James perform in Seattle at The Paramount (Wednesday, January 28th) and she said that she was "pissed" that "that girl" sang "her" song. She said they didn't even ask her to sing it and she is so mad. She felt that she deserved to sing the song, not Beyonce. This seems to greatly differ to this article.
I just heard audio from that Seattle performance, and in no way did Etta say anything remotely close to what was posted in that article. Etta said herself that she pissed off that Beyonce sang her song, a song she's been singing for years. She said that the next time she sees Beyonce, she's going to kick her ass. From the audio byte, I take it that Etta DOES NOT LIKE her. Stop putting words in her mouth.
