Bruce Springsteen's Super Bowl Show Will Be Biggest Of His Career

Bruce Springsteen's half-time show at the Super Bowl next month will be the biggest – and possibly the most lucrative - of his career.

The singer, who will be joined by The E Street band, will perform to an estimated American audience of 150million people on February 1st.

148.3million Americans watched the NFL spectacle in 2008 - more than the Oscars and the recent Beijing Olympics combined.

The performance will undoubtedly serve well for Springsteen's forthcoming album, 'Working On A Dream', which is released the week before the event.

Last year's half-time headliner, Tom Petty, sold 63,000 digital copies of his album, 'Free Fallin', in the seven days after his performance. His 2008 US tour was also one of the biggest of the year.

NFL executive Charles Coplin told Rolling Stone Springsteen had been chosen because “we have a lot of fans in common”.

“And he performs so well on a large scale that we always felt that it was a good fit,” he added.
