Beta Band: With their pasty Scottish looks it was difficult to believe that such an unassuming group would produce such mind-warpingly brilliant music. The Aliens and Steve Mason’s solo stuff just haven’t compared.

Could be nice, but you're forgetting that Sterling Morrison (ex-velvet guitarist) also has passed away. Besides they did have a reunion tour in 1993.

got to agree that with orbital, blur and most of the specials back, all next summers festival circuits need is the beta band

Why not do bands who shouldn't of reformed. I can think of a few, Sex Pistols, The Spice Girls, Queen with Paul Rodgers, East 17, The Who
