Amy Winehouse's 'Personal Problems' Form Part Of University Degree

Amy Winehouse's ongoing personal problems are set to become the subject of a university degree.

A set text about the singer will form part of the music course at the University of the West of Scotland.

Winehouse's record label, Island, are providing teaching materials for the degree-level course.

"Amy Winehouse is a great example of the potential pitfalls in the music industry,” course leader Allan Dumbreck told the Times newspaper.

"She is recognised as a multi-award-winning great artist. But the by-product of that lifestyle can be stress and illness.

“We would look at how the industry is often not a supporter of longevity.”

Island have also offered original marketing plans for a host of artists, including Bob Marley and Winehouse.
