Amy Winehouse's Husband 'Not Surprised' After Sentence Appeal Is Rejected

Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has said he was “not really surprised” to lose an appeal against his prison sentence for assault of a pub landlord.

Fielder-Civil was jailed for 27-months in July after he admitted assaulting James King outside the Macbeth in East London in 2006 and perverting the course of justice.

The former TV runner was released from Prison earlier this month in order to begin a course of rehab, which is thought to be part of the terms for his early release.

Two judges turned down his attempt to appeal against his prison sentence at the Court of Appeal this morning (November 24th).

Winehouse's husband told the BBC: "I am disappointed but not really surprised".

Refferring to Fielder-Civil's current stint in rehab, Mr Justice Pitchford said it was only if "these attempts are successful that he has a worthwhile future".

As previously reported on Gigwise, tabloid reports over the weekend claimed Winehouse has admitted that their marriage is over amid reports Fielder-Civil has begun dating a German model.
