Janie Hendrix, the step-sister of Jimi, has paid tribute to the guitarist's late drummer, Mitch Mitchell, who has died.
Mitchell, 61, was discovered in the early hours of Wednesday morning in his hotel room in Portland, Oregan. It is believed he died of natural causes.
Mitchell, originally from Ealing, London, had been touring with the Experience Hendrix Tour, which pays tribute to the guitarist, who died in 1970.
Janie, chief executive of the tour, said in a statement: "He was a wonderful man, a brilliant musician and a true friend.”
As well as performing alongside Hendrix, Mitchell also played drums with John Lennon, Eric Clapton and Keith Richards.
He was the last surviving member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
