US rapper Kanye West has claimed that the recent MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool were fixed.
The rapper voiced his disdain at the choice of winners, including his own success in the Ultimate Urban category.
“I won nothing last year and I’d brought out 'Stronger',” he told the Sun newspaper.
“Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act. This was Lil' Wayne's year.”
West also singled out Britney Spears triumph in the Act of 2008 category and organisers decision to award 30 Second To Mars two prizes.
“Britney Spears over Rihanna? Are you serious?” West said. “I mean ****ing Jared Leto? He’s my boy but he shouldn’t have won over some of those other artists.”
West has famously attacked MTV before. In 2007, he threatened to boycott the channel after he was overlooked at the 2007 Video Music Awards.
