Kaiser Chiefs have revealed that their new album, 'Off With Their Heads', has won the support of US rapper Jay-Z.
The band said the album had been played to Jay-Z by its producer Mark Ronson, who spent the summer touring with the rapper.
“Mark played Jay-Z the album because he was on tour with him at some point. We got the Jay-Z seal of approval which was nice,”drummer Nick Hodgson told XFM.
Bassist Simon Rix added: “It was a colosseum-style thumbs up.”
Hodgson also revealed that he had met the rapper during the making of the album.
“Me and Peanut (Kaiser Chiefs keyboardist) met him when we were mixing. We’ve got certain Jay-Z connections. Mark is a magnet and a connector,” he said.
